why is my life full of tough decisions? Or isn't it that tough?
as some of you know i sold my car to my brother for the 6k asking price. I needed to clear debts and figured I could get something decent with around 4k anyway.
I paid off £2000 on my credit card and it's all paid up now Now i have 4k to spend on a car.
I still have a loan out of £1000 which I'm currently paying off £200 monthly. This is really eating into my wages so I'm considering paying this off... things is this would only leave me with £3k
I really wanted to purchase an Ibiza Cupra 1.8T as well I need about 6.5k for it but this would be a lot further off if i were to pay off my loan.
Do I
a) pay off the £1000 loan and get a car for 3k and be in a position to move out
or
b) keep paying off the loan £200 a month and save up for the Cupra.

If it were me (and alot of people might disagree which is fair enough) i'd pay the £1k off and get something for £3k you can still get alot of car for £3k these days fair enough it may be a little older but think of the money you'd have to move out and not to have any debts) a nice car can always come later once you moved out, supose it depends what you want the most.

getting another job is not really an option to be honest
I work out that after outgoings my take home pay would be £911. This I imagine along with my gf's wage would be enough to at least rent somewhere which is what we both want to do...
The worry is that once I move out I won't be able to afford to save for a car

Pay off the debt now, then save for a car. Once your debts are paid you are then free to do what you want with your money.

Pay all of your debts off mate
as for car, i would just buy a cheap run about mate - something like a paxo, fiesta etc Cheap on insurance and i would put the rest of the cash into a savings account for moving out etc

@ Tom
Jake -
It's likely than we're not gonna need much for moving out to be honest. Looking at renting first so will find a fully furnished place somewhere near here. Probably need about 1k each for odds and sods like decent bed and replacing appliances if need be.

I'm jealous. You're debating whether to pay off a £1k debt or not. I'm in about £16k debt at the mo and definately won't be in a position to pay it off for years.

I know, £14k loan over 7 years - 5 of those left.
Then about £4k left from seperate loans.
