My brothers a new driver and was strugling to park the car, i got out to park the car and was just about done when a cop was there tapping on the window.
He said he had seen what happened and believed i was not insured to behind the wheel of this car.
He knew exactly what happened, but still did me over.
I pleaded with him, how i had my own car and was insured on it. But i could not convince him my policy covered me to drive the car, which it didn't! And neither does my brothers.
Know he has said to expect a summons in the post.
Ive looked on the DVLA site and and the minimum points i can get is 6 and upto 8.
Problem is i have had my license for a year and have 3 points for speeding (45 in a 40)
What can i do know, im pissed off. Do you think i can get 6 points ontop of my three? What will happen to me then? Or do you think ill get just three and a ban. Plus not forgeting a ban!
Im seriously thinking of ignoring the summon as it was away from my home town. Hoping they dont come after me.
I can't afford to loose my licence plus being 19 my insurance guna be messed
Look at me, im like a convict. lol. alwas abided by the law!

"If" it goes as far as court then you will lose your license as you already have 3 points but chances of him actually sumitting anything is pretty minimal, prolly did it to scare ya

Thats really shit . Out of curiosity, where were you? In a car park, on the street etc?
If It were me, I know i'd fight it in court. Pleading innocent would be silly, but i'd deffinatly fight my corner, as it seems very, very petty considering the circumstances. How far did you actually drive the car? Was it just a simple shuffle in the parking space to get it in right or did you move it some distance.
If It really was just a simple shuffle, or for a silly short distance, and it comes to a court hearing, then Personally I'd be writing to a couple of national newspapaers, as they'd love a story like this showing how petty the police of today can be, when theres simply no need. A warning yes, but to go so far as court for something so minor is pathetic

its not the point though that the policeman was being a twat, if you had accidental slipped on accelerator when reversing and killed someone on injured em, well, thats jail.
ive been crashed into by an un-insured drivere so i have strong views on it. i wont let my mates even move my car off my drive unless i know theyre covered.

Theres No point Ignoring the court summons, Because you will have a warrant out for "Failing to appear" Which alone is a prison Offence! It doesnt matter how far away you are from home. They will issue the warrant to your local police station. And You will have to go court. and yes you will be banned. Proberly for 6months.

you will still have 9 points on your liscence for 3 years i think it is now, but you have to tell insurance company for up to 5 years. your points will have a code with them that, when you go to insure your car will inform the company you have been banned for driving without insurance, so it is then at their discretion wether to offer you a really high premium or tell you they wont insure you.
this has happened to a mate of mine. in his case i have no sympathy, yours is a little different, although still breaking the law

You will probably get point and a fine, followed by a big insurane premium. Thinking about it i bet a few people on her could easily have been caught in a similar situation.

Tis very harsh.
I'm forever moving my sisters car off my driveway to enable me to get mine out the garage. Obviously i'm not insured on her car but if she isnt at home what can I do?
Fucking Policeman was on a power trip by the sound of it. I don't think he'll follow it up. Sounds like he wanted to be a cunt.
