Been to court this morning charged with an offence of exceeding the 70mph limit (namely 117mph) and pleaded not guilty.
Case adjourned for a pre trial review early in October and a trial date is to be set from there. So i reckon i've got atleast 2 more months left.

Been to court this morning. Arrived at 9:30am in my nice new smart suit and shoes and checked in at reception and informed them that I was representing myself.
Sat in reception with all the scum and chavs in their baseball caps and tracky bottoms until 10am when I was called into Court Room 1!
Walked into the court room and took my seat at the side. Everyone else seated in nice comfy rows of seats with benches in front of them and then there’s me sitting at the side on a crappy foldy down chair in front of the witness box which had a huge protective glass shield around it. Was quite a small little room but was full with lawyers/clerks etc. I didn’t know who was who… lol
When I walked in I was told to stand when the magistrates entered and remain standing throughout but I stood up when they entered, and then sat down when everyone else did. Oops! lol
The clerk of the court was some snobby woman and she introduced me to the magistrates and asked me to stand again. So up I got and apologised.
She read out the charge (exceeding 70mph) and asked whether I plead guilty or not guilty.
“Not guilty” I responded.
The court room gasped as people shuffled around in their chairs and muttered words under their breath.
She then asked what were my issues with the prosecutions case and why I was pleading not guilty.
“I’ve been advised not to say” was my response.
“By whom?” she questioned…
“A friend” I stated.
“Is your friend legally qualified?”
“No.”
“I’d just like to go through a few things and explain how the court system works if that’s ok with you?”
“Yes, that’s fine” I responded.
So off she went telling me all about how she would like to know what my problem was with the prosecutions case and how she was trying to save me time by avoiding further pre trial reviews if I revealed my defence today etc.
Then the prosecution lawyer stood up and read through all of the papers/letters that had been sent to me (NIP, request for photo’s etc) and basically gave a timeline of events to attempt to convince the court that I was guilty. Then the snobby woman asked if I understood everything and still wanted to go with my not guilty plea…
“Yes” I responded.
“And do you still wish to keep your defence to yourself?” she questioned..
“Yes” I responded.
“Ok then Marc, we’ll adjourn the case for you to seek legal advice from a qualified person and set a date for pre trial review for us to discuss your issues with the prosecutions case and then a trial date will be set from there. Would the 5th of October at 2pm be ok with you?”
“Yes” I responded.
“Ok Marc, would you like to speak to any of the courts staff while you’re here today?”
“No” I responded.
“Ok Marc, you’re free to leave”.
And off I toddled out of court at 10:15am.

That is one of the photographs that they sent to me to help me identify the driver, but i dunno if they intend to use it as evidence of the offence.
I certainly hope they do, that'd be fun.
