Time has come to stop with my car now..

I have just bought a brand new 3 bedroom semidetached house and therefore just cant afford to spend anymore money on my car

I wanted to do a few more bits to it and then maybe get it featured, however I dont think my dream is going to come reality now!

My father is in the Army and has been posted back out to Germany. He has been given a big promotion and now is going to be the head doctor over that region! That therefore left me with no to live.

I could of moved over to Germany with my parents, however that really wouldnt of been much of a life for me, no job prospects etc..

I could of moved back in with my nan in Newbury and comute the 1 hour to work everyday, however I didnt really want that!

So i started looking for a house! Problem is, with my car and all the stereo etc I certainly didnt want to leave it outside all day/night so needed to find somewhere with a garage. This = big money

Oh well couple of sits down with my bank manager they accepted me for my mortgage HORAYYYY

So I went out and bought my house

3 Bed
Semi detached
Single Detached garage
Largeish garden
Fully furnished (was a show home for 1 month before i bought it)
40K's worth of extras!!! (not just the standard kitchen / bathroom, built in walk in wardrobes, ensuites etc )

I am now debating selling the car, I dont really need such a flash car to drive to work in everyday and would love to have some cash sat in the bank... How much do you think its worth? There is to much to list..

Hmm im jabbering on now :/

Move in december! PARTY anyone??

Car should be kept if you shelled out for a garage for it!

Congrats on Mortgage.

Your car is awesome! If you can afford to keep it then I would do, be a shame to sell it!

I can afford to keep the car, Thats not a problem. However running it is quite expensive.. I would like a little diesel or something! I tend to put the foot down a little it in the Corsa

Mortgage was a bit of a juggle. I am paying for it 100%, Its in my name, however my dad has had to act as a guarantor.

Basically signing to say if i couldnt make a mortgage payment for whatever reason he would pay it.. However thats not going to be a problem! We have sat down and worked all the sums out! Very few mortgage companies do it, but you have to be able to prove that your income is going to increase more and more as a professional. But like i say i pay for everything and own the house

Only thing which is tempting me about keeping the car.

As mum and dad are moving to germany, once there they are entitled to tax free everything..

Anyone heard of Dbilas If i get a bonus at xmas i could get the car its turbo kit, fitted by dbilas direct and get all labour and parts tax free!! Saving over 17%

I can afford a house if i stop spending money on my car!!! Well my salary on my car!

Bonus's have to be spent on toys of course

Some months I have been spending like £600-700 on my car!! Madness eh?? stop spending money on some other crap like going to the pub to much, buying lunch at work rather than taking my own etc etc ..

Can afford the mortgage per month no probs, its the food, bills etc which are going to be the hard bit

You will find modifying your home is much better than modifying a car Cars get damaged which you have very little control over.

In my opinion it's stupid selling the car as you won't get what you paid for it and then will want to do things to whatever car you get next / get another flash car.

I spent shit loads on my car which i hardly anytime to drive it. Pointless. And after my features i totally stopped spending. Havent added anything to it since 2003.

I also brought a house last year but my wages increase inline with my mortgage, so having a house didnt affect my spending.

If i was you (well in similar situation), SELL the car NOW when its value is high. Dont wait next year or the next, cus you will have grown up a little and regrate not selling it any sooner. Get another car that looks gud standard, or just get an ordinary cheap car, drive it around for 5 yrs, your bank balance with be bulging and theres equity in the house, go get the cars of your dreams!
