i AM getting a GSI next and the type R was an options but only for about 2 mins as the GSi is just a better looking car IMO and Type Rs are everywhere now!
oh and you will more than likely develope CTR disease! symptoms to look out for are unableness to drive correctly and wanker syndrome!
you may be lucky and not get it but few escape it!

Totally different cars really. Astra is a less effort to drive as it has more Torque. CTR is a balls out, rev the nuts off it car. Astra is faster in a straight line, but I would imagine the CTR would mince it round some twisties.
Leon is also nice

hmm, well i would lean more towards the astra, but i get the feeling the civic can take more of a hammering. both cars are 200 bhp (give or take a few bhp)

Think its down to personal prefference on Looks and driving style really. Yes it is nice just to be able to plant your foot in any gear with a turbo, but you also get turbo lag. The Civic you just flick it down a couple of gears and hammer it.
My mate was put down to this decision and he went for the CTR in the end, which i wasnt too pleased about, but it has grown on me immensly since he's had it.
Try both cars and have a good look round and sport the pros and cons (littel things like the civics having the Gayest rear seat mechanism in the world .

think im leaning 2wards the astra gsi, just for the fact of the meaty engine but i do understand that the v tec needs to be revd. also like the idea of having a turbo. any1 got any pics of an arden blue gsi with morette front lights?? think that is lush.

mk4 astra gsi astra looks poop not matter how much kit u put onit it still looks like a grandards car.
CTR has a sleek design which as much as people say they dislike breadvan etc, has blantanly shown the way for future designs such as new astra.
CTR has a nicer interior adn certianyl outhanldes the mk4 gsi. been in both adn teh CTR wins hands down.
