ET42 still not stupid but those few mms really make the difference!
BUT i will say tyres will make more of a difference than a few mm of offset!
My old T12s were 45 but the tyres were 195/40 dunlops and the sidewall was really sloped and if i could have got it any lower i could have run silly low!
likewise if i had 205s on my 17s now i dont think i could even lower 30mm!

Nope i thought about it and thought about a "fan" 5 stud but for the money it would cost i may as well buy a new set....
I have placed an order for something (not saying what)
But the wheels I really wanted are ET38 which i dont fancy as the car drives so well now.

don't different offsets change the turning of the car, tyre wear, which bits of tyre are used in corners etc.
not only scrubbing

Yep it does.
I really need to know - how bad the problems would be on a 38 offset.
The wheels i have ordered are 42 - but they are not in stock - i can cancel the order anytime up to the point of delivery. But im thinking 4mm for what i want?
Problem is it will drive like shoot.

slight rubbing on rear but that has been sorted by cutting my arches and bonding them on , they are 15, 195-50 tyres if i remember right and im down 35-40mm.
