Hia,

Everything is in place apart from the rad fan, the original engine was a 1.4 8v and when I tried to fit the original fan it doesnt look like a good fit.... at all

Can people share what they have done with their conversions? if you have bought any vauxhall items can you list the part codes please, and any web links are always welcome!

Cheers,

Willay.

it tells you to shave it around the manifold on the conversion guide, but when i did this to my mates it ended up melting anyway, so i cut the bit right out and joined the with a thin piece of metal, its been working for a year and a half now,

i also believe the 1.5d may be thinner than normal ones, but im not exactly sure

mines a standard gsi one, with the long arm that goes to the o/s chopped off and a lee mitchell (TM) bracket holding the shroud to the slam panel.

also the third arm holding the motor nearest the header needed to be lopped off for clearance.

fan flaps about a little, but still does the job mostly.

easiest way is

Cut all the bits that poke out, so you are kinda left with a square with the fan in the middle, then drill two holes in each corner through the plastic.

position the fan where you want it, then get some gable ties and push through one of the holes, through the rad, then back on itself making sure it goes round one of the pipes, then back through the other hole you made and tighten

do this for each corner and voila a mounted fan and very superficial damage to the rad.

a 16v fan for a 1.4/1.6 sport or a 12v fan from a 1.0 12v will all fit...

if you wanna be really cool then look up 'spal fans' on ebay... there are super slim and probably more effective than the gm ones...

Only two wires to connect up one way makes the fan suck and the other way makes it blow.

I think the fan is 12" dia just measure your rad
