My engine seems to be holding onto revs, its hard to explain so i did a vid-
http://www.bookatrack.com/-PFadam20xe219724176?adam20xe&2197&24176&video/x-ms-wmv
Thats just sat on my driveway anoying the neigbours, but it does it when driving as well. You know when your driving along and back off the throttle, usually you can feel the engine slowing the car down pretty much straight away. On mine the car just keeps going at the same speed, almost like its got cruise control for at least 5 secs then it starts slowing down.
Im going to pull all the throttle butterfly apart and clean it but is there anything else i could look at?

Mine did the same, ECU fault it was in the end. Is it chipped?
Went for throttle bodies and new management cos I was that sick of removing, cleaning and replacing sensors!

try replacing the throttle position sensor, unplug it and see what the car does in limp mode...

mine did this too, i tried a different ecu and it seemed to sort it, i think it may have something to do with the lambda sensor.

sort of, i cleaned all the throttle butterfly out and its a lot smoother but it does still hold at 2k. I think its the throttle position sensor, i can get them for £30 brand new. Will let you know if it fixes it permanently.
