While just drving around town at a regular speed all of a sudden the engine began sounding like a 2cylinder helicopter..
tried to make it home, but didnt succeed.. whitesmoke and no more accelleration

Work to do..
Time to get the fluids out.. Managed to shower myself at the same time.. stuff is pretty sticky

Could't use the bridge all day so had to move it (check out my bridgebuilding skills )

Looks alot nicer without the sec airpump.. that wont be coming back anymore

Cambelt still on time.. so that aint it..

Dismounting the mantzel:

And fuel-hoses:

CRAP! Who decided to mount the exhaust manifold from beneath.. stupids @ vaux...:

En losbouten die hap:

The kentcams wich should be 260 degr but run like 290degr:

close up from the partnr. (COR1612):

Been fooling around with that stupid backplate of the cambelt cover.. after 30 mins decided to do it my own way..

The last 2 hoses on tha back of the cyl. head also took alot of time...

Hmmz.. so that's what's wrong...

Head gasket.. well.. what's left of it..

Result of a long day and some dirty hands:

The bucket couldn't wait till he got to the little room...

Ehr yes.. he didn't clean it himself...

The head's getting welded
revised
ports get polished
vernier inletpulley on it (exhaustpulley wont fit due toe that crap sensor)
all seals nutt's bolts ets get new ones
maybe also a 4-2-1 exhaustmanifold on it..

yeap, melted in a bit, needs a weld and skimming

i think one of the injectors was failing. getting all four of them tested and cleaned, if needed replaced..

i contacted about 5 engeneers allready, all gave warranty on the welding reskimming being safe and trustwothy

this is the first time i'm walking de DIY-route.. really a good way to learn everything.. to bad it has to happen because of problems instead of just an upgrade..

Yea, think the 3rd of 4th injector was faulty getting al 4 of them tested next friday.

but the vernier pulley and pollished ports are also a good reason to open the engine up

new conrods etc...

will be a fine engine again.. just need to get used to taking the bus to work again.. got in late today

Went to get the injectors tested and cleaned today

Looking quote good now..

before cleaning 1 of the injectors had a 15% cappacity difference. Sonic cleaning brought that back to a 5% difference

also the rubber seal was broken so the burned out headgasket could have be cause by false air / incorrect mixture

If you'd given up when it first failed without trying to drive home you might have avoided the head damage.

Head should be alright, could almost skim it out if you like high compression
I'd certainly ditch the standard exhaust manifold.

while the engine's out anyway time for some mod's

- get rid of airco and mount a enginemount of a 16xe without airco
- Strengten the chassis with a remake of M-tech's chassis-perfection kit
- Mocal oilthermostat
- Mocal oilcooller
- create a switch to be able to turn on the fan whenever i want to
