some of you might already know that I'm about to get my own place (with the gf). I've already encountered a problem though it might not be major to some of you but to me it is!!!
The living room/lounge (whatever you want to call it) has wooden flooring, it's been done to a high standard and goes right up to the edge of the wall where the skirting boards then sit over it.
The telly is going in the corner, I was kinda hoping to run the wires for the 5.1 down the gaps and round the back of the sofa etc... thing is I can't get to them because of the skirting boards!!! I can't exactly start taking up the wooden flooring either
any ideas?
Cheers

U can run them tight up against the skirting, and if they are white it wont be that noticeable

I was thinking this... not sure how responsive (and good) infra red speakers are though.

I think this is what I'll have to do. Depends on how tidy I can get it, hate having wires everywhere

Yeah, exactly what I was going to say.
Either that or remove the skirting, but that could be a bit of hassle unless you are intending to decorate anyway?

we're not intending to decorate, it's recently all been done so would hate to make extra work during what is gonna be quite a hectic period for us.
corsa_boy19 - trying to open up the link now... it's taking a while (don't think work is letting it through )

You could run some PVC trunking around the floor or on the skirting. Different size available.

nothing wrong with the infra red stuff. I run a rear speaker setup with wireless.
you might be able to get away with taking the skirting boards off but depends if they have been put on after the walls were painted or not.

Allan - thanks for the suggestion, will keep that in mind.
TNM - what's the quality like? What particular player do you have? Any problems with it?
