well i managed to adapt my valve spring compressor to make it long enough with a little bit of bodged welding
so got all the valves reseated and refitted with new valve stem seals
cleaned up all surfaces around gaskets aswell.
fitted new head gasket seal and got that all torqued up today
I have also fitted lower inlet manifold thermostat housing and throttle body which has a new gasket aswell.
Phoned up about ecu on saturday morning and that is all ok aswell so that is
Parts are off to powder coaters. should have them middle of week
Have fitted new crankshaft position sensor, new knock sensor. coolant temp sensor cleaned EGR, got secondary solenoid and have it connected now aswell
need to phone qutovaux to get a few bits changed tommorrow as have been sent wrong ones
Going to phone bout getting timing belt done tommorow aswell.
So i am now basically waiting on parts so i can get more done to it, am hoping i shall have it back in car this weekend all going well
cant wait.
Am really enjoying stripping and rebuilding my engine, has been a little daunting and very expensive on several new tools but well worth it

have you put the head back on the engine? if not before you do so make sure piston 1 is at tdc before you put the head on... then just line up the cams...
the inlet cam will need a small bit of jigging when your putting the belt on as it tends to move....
once the belt is on rotate the crank shaft 4 times and them back to tdc... make sure all the marks line up I.E the crank and the 2 cam shafts...
put the covers on and forget about it... job done!

maybe a silly question but how do i rotate the crankshaft 4 times? just a spanner?

yeah a apanner... put the bolt than normall holds the aux pully on back on but leave the aux belt pulley off though so you can see the arrow on the timing belt pulley behind...

if you cant remember which is at tdc just put a long screwdrive thru the spark plug hole and rotate the pulley, it will go up and down....
