went in there today with my dad to pay and take the car away, saw the car and

1: the bumpers, arches where much brighter than the rest of the car (much brighter)
2: he didn't hardly sand down anything so theres random lumps on the arches
3: a big scratch in the bumper wasn't filled over and smoothed, he just painted over it
4: the irmy lip wasn't lined up properly
5: he painted the lower grill red!!! which looked horrible so i'm gonna have to find another bumper to rip that bit out
6: the spoiler wasn't put on due to didn't know what to do about the window washer (which isn't he's thought)

luckly i hadn't payed him yet, but my dad went mad. Its all being resprayed a darker red now and knowing my luck its gonna be the same story. so its in there for another week

thats when they get the hump and lost interest imo, i don't like trusting people if i ask them to redo something, personnally i'd haggle the price down and take it elsewhere, complain too, people are getting too slack these days

I hate hearing things like this. Seems to happen quite often and is a difficult situation.
Every bodyshop I've been to for quotes I've asked to look at previous work to make sure they aren't a bodge shop but theres still no gurantees

I'm going down there tomorrow to see how bad it is.

My feeling from what he told me is that he used the wrong colour primer which makes flame red majorly bright

Depends on the brand of paint in most cases its red primer which givers the deeper red

you can't just take the car and not give them any cash without giving them a chance to rectify it.

give them some time to turn it around to your satisfaction then take action if they still can't get it right.

i did check the place. its a real nice work enviroment and the old chap doing it is a nice guy, i'm annoyed because thats my car he's just rushed. i didn't get any pics because it wasn't the time or place, and the fact my dad was getting frustated.

i cant just take the car and not pay him anything. Just got to pray it comes out ok the second time

I am so so so so so so happy and relieved I have a bodyshop that takes a massive pride in everything being perfect and just right.

My mate just recently had his Astra put back to standard and sprayed Impreza black at the same bodyshop and its absolutely perfect and beautiful.
