grease the grooves where you wind it up and down as they always rust and then ajusting is a problem

I was going to buy a second hand set off my mates corsa when he was breaking it went to look at them and they were rusty to fcuk after three months.

Then I looked at a set of coilovers on my mates mk2 Golf and they were in the same condition he's since binned them as he couldnt sell them and FK didnt want to know either. He got some HR coilovers instead

As for Gmax they aint half as bad as people make them out to be, Rus has them on his car and they are quite adequete. I wouldnt buy them myself as i've been using Koni's for five years now

Fk are parp

FAD any coil over will seize unless there greased or wax oiled on the threads az there constantly exposed to road debris and everthing else a car gets on the road even konis doesnt matter how much u spend, personally i pref ledas altho pricey!

the only thing i can fault on the fks is the stupid fecking camber setup... its a pain in the arse to get right...

my advise would be to buy some adjustable topmounts if your buying fk's...

I run fully adjustable ledas on my nova with spherical top mounts and uniball bottom arm joints. set up with 2 deg negative castor and 1 1/4 deg positive camber using profeshional guages and corner weights. even if u put adj top mounts ull still have to get ur geometry set up like me. only problem is not a great amount of places have the facilities and its not cheap.

my thinking behind the adjustable top mounts would be that you can get the camber almost right at the elongated hole on the coilover then fine adjust it at the top mount...

seems impossible/or a right load or arse to try and get them bang on at the elongated hole on the coilover itself...

yes the highsports have the camber adjustment on them...

koni yellows are about 90 quid a shock or about 300ish for a full kit with springs...

3CM i have been thinking the same thing in work this afternoon, and it would be alot less hassle than getting coilovers and having to mess with the camber and all that kind of stuff. As i have gathered from this thread that there is little point in buying a cheaper set of coilovers just to say i have got some, il leave them to the rallycar im building i think, but splash out on a proper set when i have saved up more!

I think I will get the FK's for the Nova, but I won't have the same problem as you guys have with the rusting as the Nova only sees the road in good conditions and the warmer months.
