My mother managed to spill a whole 5 pint container of milk in the boot of her astra sxi about a week ago. Now it’s starting to smell badly. We've had the car professionally valeted but its still smelling!

Any ideas on how to get rid of the smell. If not how much to you reckon a scrappy would charge for a rear bench?

Ta muchly

At work we have a smoke machine thing, you put it in the car and put all the windows up and shut the doors and the smoke has a smell in it, seems to work well and gets rid of doggy smells and ciggy smells ETC.

Maybe you could get one from a hire shop or something, not sure where its from

I would clean it like you would a carpet in your house. And do the lemon thing afterwards.

soak it with alcohol, not beer, pure alcohol cleaner (kill bacteria)

cover in lots of bicarbonate of soda while slighty damp, leave over night, then hoover out

may need to do soda thing more than once
