hmm, dunno really, you obviously want somthing faster than the Gsi which is group 10, but faster car's are quite a bit higher.
Saxo VTS
106 Rallye
Toyota Starlet Turbo
Honda Civic VTi
Fiesta Zetec-s
205 GTi
306 GTi-6
They're the types of car's i'd be looking at...

Its very easy to get caught up in a specific manufacturer, i'm gonna have to force myself to buy another make for my next car as I know if i stick with vauxhall, i won't know what other cars are like!

Get another Corsa.
I can understand why you would want to stay away from french cars, they are crap. They might handle well but I still wouldn't have one. Stick with Vauxhall

MK4 Astra 1.8 16v are pretty nippy, quicker than 2.0 16v Ecotec anyway. Just doubt you would be able to get a good one in your price range.

I would say Civic VTi but they are grp 15 ins so you wont get insured.
You can get the 1.5 VTEC's though which arent too bad.

not always, only the imports. They are more reliable than most others so ins companies like them due to that.
