what does the c and x stand for tho? i know the the c means its got a cat, but what about the x is it a higher emissions band?

also the c16 pushes more powerout standard? and this is due to the inlet is it not?

so if you put TB's on a C16 and an X16 there would then be no difference in the two? or is it in the head or block they are different?

the differnce between a c16xe and a x16xe is the head. the c16xe head had larger ports as it doesnt have the egr system, the ports are also a different shape and give better airflow, although a x16xe with headwork will give very similar results.

i would get a late spec low milage x16xe and get the head done rather that buy a c16xe which will probably have high miles.

by the time you fit tb's there is hardly any difference.

I cant begin to say how much i prefer the 16xe over the 20xe.

Around the track i found it quite easy to out class c20xe nova's and corsa's.

I admit my c16xe nova isnt as fast as my old one (2.0 16v nova) but its so so so much quicker!

ive got a x16xe on tb's.

my mate has a 2 litre corsa, it seems to be broken all the time tho, doesnt handle as well as mine and mine is quicker.

i wouldnt swop mine for any 2 litre corsa.

and yes, you can feel the extra weight in the corners.

x16xe, or c16xe, both will be at similar power level when tuned and given so proper head work. i went for an x16xe because it was cheaper when i was looking originally, think id still go for the x16xe what ever tho.

id pick it over a c20xe because i believe on a track it will henadle a hell of a lot better and i picked it over the c20let because in my eyes the let has too much power and torque for a track car, i think 180bhp from the 1.6 is a nice mix, always said that as have many other people on here. but im waiting people to tell me that im wrong.

i have gone for 20xe for the simple reason it has more power and torque as std, and to get it to 180-200 bhp you done have to have loads of cash

plus even if it is understeery which i doubt very much as ive driven one so im now talking from personel experience, even if it did, i like understeer as i can control it,

plus, if the 2ltr was so bad, they wouldnt use it in rally cross where handling is very very mixed due to different surfaces on track
