Hia,

Just fitted my rear adjustable H&R suspensions, theres a few things I'm not sure about:

You can see here, the adjustable platform sits on the bottom, but doesnt fit perfectly onto the beam. It also has little allen key screws on it where its suppose to clamp on but ala I cannot do this due to it not sitting flush/properly.

CLOSE UP

I cannot screw the top nut on properly at the moment, my plan is to lower the car back onto its wheels and then try doing up the nut, think that will work?

have you tried fitting the bottom platform without the springs in place? and for the top-nut, i always fit that first then jack up the rear beam to fit the lower bolt. lowring it onto its wheels will work as well

yes sir, I first sat the platform on there to make sure it fitted ok but couldnt see it fitting any other way.

The top nut is only JUST screwed on, and the bottom bolt is already in.

The problem I'm havign is when I turn the nut the whole middle bit of the strut spins.

as for the platforms, im not sure, never fitted any before.

the top of the strut will have an allen key insert. stick a allen key in there to hold it and stop it from moving

looks like it on the pic. jack up the rear beam, it will make the job much easier

just back from the garage, I used the torch and wow

theres an insert for a allen key so I've tightened that up

you have to take the spring seat off the rear beam to get the platform to sit properly...

use a large hammer to get it off..

i haven't read any comments but

that nut is a fucker to tighten, i think i done as much as i could then put the car down and finished it off.

about the not sitting flush part, i would of said cut the lump metal part off, but then there isn't anything to keep the spring thing sitting in the middle. long shot but maybe cut the lump out, then weld some metal on the outside (or in) to secure it?

I think it needs the seat so it doesnt slip about!

As sibs has said you'll need to remove the spring seats so the platform can locate correctly, you don't need it anymore as that base is the spring platform now.
Bit hammer chisel and WD40 to remove, or wait till it corrodes apart like normal.
