x16xe manifold and ports on the head are bigger..

but it will be a 1600cc engine and run properly..

but with more torque and lesser bhp then an actual x16xe

but will run fine however.. i dont know about the ECU..

Are the X16XE and the X14XE identical to look at from the outside? Cos if they are there would be no way of an insurance company knowing unless they took it apart and measured everything.

I wouldn't recommend not telling your insurance company, just interested

x14xe head on a 1.6 bottom end is similar to an xel lump 102-103 bhp i think, change the cams for 1.6 ones and you may see more, ive got some x16xe cams laying around btw

100bhp, but about 110lb/ft. and the X14XE and X16XE look different anyhow. smaller cam cover on the 14

why didnt u just get the correct lump? 8v will have some differences.. pistons for example :/

get a 16v lump not an 8v :/

or is your engine orignaly an 8v?

You'll be creating the X16XEL as found in the Astra mate. X16XE bottom end with the X14XE head. X14XE head has smaller inlet/exhaust ports than the X16XE head and the exhaust cam also has a lower lift and duration that that of the X16XE. Be producing 100BHP like the X16XEL, but MAYBE a little more, around 101-102BHP if using the X14XE Corsa inlet manifold over the X16XEL Astra inlet manifold which is more restrictive. Hope that helps.
