came to the conclusion the em light was on because of an electrical fault
checked a few connections, never got round to checking them all as cant get in garage just now
anyway last night after filling up with petrol i noticed the car didnt pull so well and was a little jerky when accelerating wasnt to bad. came to work this morning and i think it is worse going to get it into the garage and get it all sorted will cost lots but just want it all sorted and reliable for once

A few months ago my bf Filby1 had a similar prob when accelerating, it was very jerky and felt like it was going to stall constantly. Cant remeber what he said it was but he cleaned something up and then it was fine.. sorry cant remember what it was. U2U him he should be able to tell you if it was the same.

iv had it on the diagnostic, came up with 11 faults, ecu got reset then took it back to garage 24hrs later and a load of different faults came up again always seems to be random faults, led to believe electrical fault dodgy connection causing it

You taking it to Vauxhall for fault reading? Thier equipment is a bit more reliable than what most garages use... Unless they are a Bosch center, as they have pretty similar diagnostic equipment...

it goes to garage i have became very friendly with recently been in there more than in my garage at home
they deal with scoobys evo's rally cars etc. been doing it for many years and are very good. car has been in few times when they havent been able to find the problem, spent a couple gours at it and havent charged as havent sorted it, going to give them a phone at lunch

think the acceleration problem is down to bad fuel from asda
going to phone regal see if they can shed some light on the EM problem
think it may be to do with the different compresion ratios etc between X16XE and the X16XEL couple different sensors but there technical staff are not in till monday
problem after problem, Wouldnt of happened if i was told it was an X16XEL when i bought it rather than a XE
i am annoyed

go and search migweb for a driveaway rot box of a calibra, cavelier, or astra with a 20XE
make sure the engine and gearbox are sweet before you start the conversion....
