they do if you want to spend stupid amounts on it...
Not worth it imo..
Best buying a car to start with that's faster...
The 1.8 SRi is a crap car for the money / speed.
Much better cars out there..

Painz were you not given that advice when buying yours and still said you would be doing this and that to get the power up?

Not really ever given any advise when buying mine..
I own a 1.2 SXi from new. I spent stupid amounts on that doing bits to it.. kit, wheels, interior bits, stereo etcetc..
I then lusted for more power once i secured a good job and therefore decided to get a 1.8 SRi..
I could of bought many other cars with more power, better specs for my money, however i had spent so much on the 1.2 in about a year i did not want to loose all that.
The 1.8 SRi was also the biggest engine / highest insurance group car i could insure at the time in the insurance budget i wanted to pay.
I therefore decided to buy the 1.8 SRi as i was happy and liked my 1.2.
I don't dislike my 1.8, infact I love it. I love the drive, etc.. I just think there is a much better car out there for the money.

nice, but not true at all brother!!! as i have first hand experience at driving a 1.8 aginst a vts ovbiously we were on a track
but also i will not claim that they are shite off a shovel, but are rather nippy for a STANDARD engine

well exactly chump..
It seems pointless to me to spend stupid amounts on a car to then just go and drive like an idiot,
Don't get me wrong.. sometimes I'll give the car a bit of a poke, but I prefer to keep it looking in A1 condition than rag the nuts off it..
