So so though...
Yes the graphics are half decent and you can race in just about any car.
but the Physics in the game are so shit. The cars handling is so unrealistic it's almost lame.
GT4 (which imo the handling is still a bit arcadey) makes Toca look pathetic. and with games like GT Legends out, then toca ultimately looks like arcadey rubbish.
I'm not sure whether I'll buy it or not - I liked toca race driver 2, but my 1 disapointment with it was just how the cars handled like they were on rails - then you push it to far and it completely lets go. Where as in real life it's more a gradual, back end can slip out, power slide etc. Also no things like lift off over steer in front wheel drive cars etc.

Yes the demo of Toca 3 and the real game of Toca Race Driver 2.
Race Driver 2 on PC was pretty good with a wheel. and the TOCA3 demo is famous for being shite. the real deal is meant to be much much better.

Well if that's true I may be able to forgive it. I've got a Logitech Driving Force Pro (The GT4 one) and I didn't really rate Toca Race Driver 2 on handling / feel - yes the gameplay was a laugh (though repetetive when you had to beat the set people in like 3 / 4 laps and it placed you at the back of the grid) - but still just not that realistic.
Have you played GT Legends? That game's handling on professional mode is so realistic - It makes it fucking hard, but you get enjoyment from the feeling of actually driving the car, rather than throwing it in at any speed and burying the throttle.
Thing I hate is all the PC mags don't have a clue, and think anything is realistic. Though one review I read said it was a comprise on realism and gameplay - and admitted the handling wasn't all that.
Half the satisfaction is the challenge of controlling the car, not just winning races imo.

Yeh LFS is great... problem is a lot of people don't know about LFS. I've bought s2, not played it for a while though... the only downside with LFS is the grip at low speed - i.e. very easy to spin, challenging but annoying at the same time.
The level of competition in LFS is hard though - a lot of people are fucking quick / have the best setups.

GT legends and FIA GTR are both awesome games, on the pro mode though its almost impossible to win anything.
I prefer the semi pro or ameteur mode on GTL, that way you can handle the car and its all about your braking points and lines round the twisties. That to me is what racing is about and more fun.
Who cares about TRD3 - if its got all them cars im going to love it.
I raced the karts when i was at autosport show and 12 of us all racing togethor was hilarious all bouncing off each other, sideways everywhere just like the real thing!
I prefer a game where i can put the power down unlike GTR etc

Personally I think GT4 has about the right blend of realism / gameplay. Not too hard, cars are quite hard to spin / lose it - yet you still feel incontrol and can get them sideways etc.
