Down a back lane in a 30 zone, there was a tripod thing, unmanned, about 20 yards from the 40 limit. Only noticed it as i went past doing about 42. Just as i went passed i noticed a policeman walking around, looked like he was meddling about with the wires or sumthing.
Noone pulled me over, what do you think? 3 points coming my way or not?

dont you get 10% on the reading for speedo inaccuracy and things, so you only get done at 44. or it could be for road works to measure things

Possibly but if he was meddlling with wires, chances are he was just setting it up, or it wasnt working correctly.

If he was fitting the camera-wiring to a post at the side of the road, it'll be one of the ones with the strip-sensors in the road (possibly)...

You sure it was a Police officer? Back home there is a volentry speed detection club. Basically, there are a load of old people who haven't got the common decency to just die. They spend thier retirement sitting on this corner in a 30 zone with thier speed camera clocking peoples speeds (which then flashes up on a sign futhur down the road asking you to slow down if you are speeding) writing thier registration numbers down if you are speeding and sending the information to the Police. I'm pretty sure that the Police then throw this all in the bin

Apparently, 10% on top of the speed limit, so in his case, 3 MPH as he was in a 30 MPH zone.
I got done by a Gatso camera back in 2001 for doing 42 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.
