ok as a weekend car for a bit of fun.
if youre considering it as a daily drive i would reccomend against it.
difficult to get in/out of. not very nice to sit in crawling traffic in. and they all leak like a bitch.
oh yeah and people who consider themselves "proper lotus enthusiasts" wont take it back to dealer and get leaks fixed. they consider it to be more character than fault. ffs like

Nice cars , fast for what they are and as you know handling out of this world.
But as said , for a daily drive i wouldnt really consider it, i was stuck between an S2 and S2K as much as i prefer the S2 looks as its more hardcore then getting in and out of them and the cost of clam shell repairs just put me off , if someone was to reverse into it and split the clam shell and you need a new rear clam thats is now a Cat D car

VX220 2.2 16v, you can get them for around 11k now with decent mileage.

ffs dont buy an s1, had 3 mates who have had them, all had massive problems with them (these were all low milage flsh cars as well)
all of them have had the head gasket go, also 2 water pumps, and 1 had the oil pump go, also one though the cambelt (lotus dont no why) at 36k
they all leak, badly, and the early s1's have a habit of beeing built very shitley IMO
vx 2.2 much improved car, but still with its nigglign problems

Mate Ryan had one(bloke with the calibra turbo's) he loved his, but sold it in favour of comfort and some cash left over. Wouldnt mind one, but would always feel like a failed exige wannabe owner
