hey

Didnt think i would be worried about this but the steering of my corsa is pretty light, I was expecting alot more force on the wheel while driving?

I've got a 20xe fitted, coilover suspension, 15 inch Astra wheels and NO power steering.

any thoughts?

H&R coilovers, camber has to be fucked cause I havent really had it looked at (btw who should i go to regarding that? :lol

and the back is higher then the front I think..

probably be camber i wud have thought... i've looked into this alot to willay and ways of adjusting it our:

to file the top hole in your suspension arm so it can be moved back and forth to adjust

to buy adjustable top mounts (makes ure ride quite bumpy)

or to buy camber bolts which can adjust it

My 20xe without PAS is heavy as fook... it was comedy watching my brother who drives a PAS equipped matiz trying to get it out of my parking space

in my opinion yes, as the first one seems quite "bodge" and the adjustable top mounts make using ure car everyday a little unpractical as it'd be super bumpy (so i've heard) but i'm sure muppet can advise as he has them...

hehe i fckd my pas last week (belt tensioner popped loose)

drives heavy as fcuk! with 7J 15" et35 with proper camber!

probably best to take it to a place who can set up ure camber and let them do it as they have the correct measurements/angles for it... u can do it ureself tho but it requires a little bit of bodge work using a spirit level and its not entirely accurate iirc

i think it requires some special equipment may be worth giving a few garages local to you a ring and ask...

tracking is more likely to be bahoojered...

after the swap to the white shell i had light steering till i sorted out the tracking

You can get 4 wheel laser alignment at ATS for just over £20, they will be able to set the camber bolts up.

They basically work by retaining one standard bolt into the struts on each side then replacing the other one with the bolt which has an elyptical lobe, so by turning the bolt the lobe alters the angle that the hub carrier/strut sits at.

As AK says, it is likely to be tracking as well because the two go hand in hand when lowered.

A good indication that you are tracking in, as a result of lowering and the weight of the XE, is that you will find the steering does not castor back as well as normally. In other words centre out after turning, and you need to feed the wheel back.
