Looking through autotrader tonight my mate commented on how the old shape M5 has dropped in price - found 00 - 01 models for 16k (£60k new!!). Sooooooooooooo....thought it would be funny to get a quote, as you do

5L V8 400BHP ferarri destroyer - how much for 12 months insurance for a 23yr old

Anyone want to hazzard a guess?

thats based on the fact that you drove a high grouped car previously and I assume have a good few years NCB?

i was 1800 third party for my m-reg 330bhp 540i at the age of 22 so i guess your talking easy 4 times that for more power, newer and FC

how the helld you manage that??

you got full 5 years no claims or did the person who quoted you want to suck you off and have your babies?? what does jade work as-insurance maybe?

4yrs NCB...was an online quote on Admiral standard car (as if you would need to mod it!!) parked on the road I expected more too

kirstys mums got the 535i in that shape,,mines was the old shape but was such a gorgeous car to drive,,boot it and the computer said 12mpg tho

I love that shape 5 series. My 325 had a mpg-omitter on the dash from what I remember it used to spin about as random as poss & head for the small figures when you pegged it

Wish I could afford one Stu....i would be living the dream Running costs would cripple me though!!

ohh yeah,,, remember theres 8 cylinders and 32v all going constantly,, my old one read 30mpg when cruising on a motorway and about town read 20mpg so i feel the m5 would be worse

Thats true....although thats also the reason I sold it, spent more time on a petrol station forecourt than enjoying myself driving the fucker!!!

Wonder how much a service or disks & pads etc etc are for an M5

full cream leather interior and more toys init than i knew what to do with,, it was a great car till the engine had a slight water drinking problem and i still drove it warping the left cylinder gead

Shame... 540 sounds a hoot

Hmmmm need toi get the calculator out & do some sum's....maybe rent out my flat!!

Think the 24 I found was combined mpg so might be good for 30 cruising
