right people its time to kick this region back into shape

we were one of the best regions last year with alot of active members and active posts.

large meets with a big number of members attending
and also a large number of members wanting to have there car on show

this year the region is on its arse- small if any turn out to meets - not many active posts - and in regards to cars wanting to be on show - i'm having to ask other regions for help to make up numbers for shows.

whats the problem with the region/ what can be fixed what cant

any ideas would help - any comments made will be considered - (this also includes comments in regards to organiser)

i really wanna know

so come on north east - get them home truths out and lets get this region kicking again.

cause i'm sick of turning up to poor attended meets/shows and also having to explain to the other regions/site owners about the problems in the north east.

i wanna hear every1's views on this - cause things need to change - and they need to change now

Not sure if you just mean concerning corsa sport here but there used to be loads of really good meets/cruises about. i.e. Middlesbrough cruise and redcar ones, now you never hear of any and any that do happen are just poo. I think the closing of clevo kinda killed that off a bit but in my opinion the cruises there were the best.

i agree, cruising in the NE has died over the past year or so - on another note my car has been off the road for ages thus ive never been on here, but hopefully another month or so and ill be up and running

I don't remember going to any large meets with big numbers of members attending last year..

I think the most that were ever at any meet i went to was about 6 and even then there was only a 50%'ish Corsa attendance..

The meet/modifying scene is far from dead in the North East. Only last week VVOC staged a meet in Whitley Bay and had approximately 20 VVOC attendees plus approxiately 20 attendees from various other clubs. There was a range of different types of modified cars from members of all age groups. It was a very enjoyable day where people were socialising, having a laugh, having a bite to eat together, meeting people from other groups/clubs and helping each other to fix their cars aswell as admiring the work of others.

Corsa Sport meets that i've attended don't even compare.

'Old skool' ( ) members returning to the board to insult new members and generally consider themselves to be superior to any other new members certainly don't help..

Tried what before?

Maybe it's unfair to compare the 2 groups because i guess the cars in question are aimed at totally different markets. But i'm only a member of those 2 so i cannot compare to any other groups that perhaps the Corsa is aimed at.

i was going to suggest this - as from what i know personally about vvoc - is a older age group etc compared to what we have at corsasport - is mainly older people etc.

i could be wrong and sorry if i am but this is the personal impression i got from vvoc.

Yes it probably is, which is why it maybe unfair to compare.

But at the same time, there are members on VVOC who come to the meets who are a lot younger than me (22).

I don't really know what to suggest as i don't have a Corsa, but if CorsaSport arranged regular meets that were as well populated and as friendly as VVOC do, i would be an ever present.

I think it's hard for new members to fit into it all without feeling total n00bs, with some people being like said "old skool" and 'superior'

Think the whole set up on CS with premium members having an avi makes the none prem members look peasent-like too

monthly meets that will change from north or south of the region each time >

if we go to a location and its rubbish or poor turn out - it will not be used again.

that sound fair?
