I quite like the look of them.
Didn't the later ones have silver grilles?

interior build quality is shit but nice spec for not a lot of cash.
look good as standard as well, 145 bhp 0-60 in 7.4 and cheap to run and insure. 1.8 vvc engines are revvy and reliable.

Cracking little cars Mr B.
My Dad's daily driver is one of these.
List on these was 18k. He picked his up brand new for 11k in 2000.
Nice car to drive, 147bhp and very revvy, plus has LSD and is small and light so quite nimble and chuckable.
Would make a little blinder as a track day car with a cage, some stripping and firmer suspension.
Very rare also, and always thought the BRM heritage reference on a modern car was a nice touch.

I'm impressed.
On the subject of the grille surround on the 200, my Dad had his done in silver to match the other trim on his before he collected it.
It does look nice but I can't help thinking it detracts from the whole idea a bit.
I remember the original show car that these were based on.
It looked amazing, it was in proper BRG which is almost black. It had vented seats and a Motolita style wood and bright metal steering wheel, plus it sat lower than production cars and sat on the deeper dish MGF Cup racer wheels and had a splitter, plus a bigger more flush lower grille surround in a darker orange and a satin finished upper grille.
I would post the pic but i'm not prem.
Sufficed to say, visually that is what we intend to do to my Dad's car when we've got the time and money.
Throttle bodies, a cage, a matching trimmed race seat and some harnesses, plus a set of Konis are on the wish list too.

Because its a BRM and they were limited numbers made to represent BRMs heritage.
SVM, try photobucket. Would really like to see that
