Had an amazing time, with a few black moments, the track is very unforgiving. Got about 8 gig of pics and vids, but there on my mates laptop so will only get chance to upload most of them at the weekend.

So we set off from sunny Chorley wed afternoon and drive to ashford in kent and stayed at a travel lodge then down to dover for an 8.30 ferry to calais. Quick blast through france and belgium and into Germany arrived at the ring thurs afternoon.

Raining when we arrive but thought fuck it, i'll go out for a sighting lap, take it easy like. goes out and fuck me its really slippy! car is fine accelerating and braking, but round the corners doing all of 15-20mph it feeles like your driving on ice!

Came to Kallenhard about halfway round, turning in, hmm this is a bit tight, oh bollocks! back of the car over takes the front so i bury the trottle and miss the very expensive barrier by all of 2 feet, backwards! From that point on, dry laps only!

Got a few dry laps in the next day, built the confidence back up. Didnt go out and time any laps but the quickest one on the camera was about a 10.10. Car is probably capable of 9.30, but no way am i risking that just to look cool in the pub afterwards. hitting 120mph down schwedenkreuz then turning into an off camber corner at 80-90 = proper brown trousers

Sat was a very crap day, lots of rain. 2 other lads turned up, friends of a friend kinda thing. Craig has just bought an absolutly mint E36 M3 evo, 3.2 320 bhp standard, no TC. he goes out in the rain, just like me on a sighting lap but he isnt so lucky and punts the wall at about 20 mph on his first lap out. Needed a new bonnet, wing, slam panel, rad, headlight and a fan. It cost him 1500 euros for the barrier he hit and about 350 euros to be towed off track he was properly gutted but its all being sorted now by a really helpfull chap in Germany.

Also on sat a biker went down and was killed out on track he fell off and split his helmet and ended up in the middle of the track. 2 chaps in an Exige stopped to help but before they could get to him another car came round the corner and hit him, he died instantly. RIP dude .

Sunday and monday were both a lot better, both fairly dry with minimal stoppages, got some really good videos. Had dinner on Monday night in Pistonclause restraught and got served by Sabine Schmitz, had a chat about tablecloths and tubledryers awesome lady, much more attractive in real life also but christ doesh she know the ring inside out!

Was very pleased with the corsa, covered about 1700 miles this weekend, didnt miss a beat. Had a few comments from people on track saying it looked fairly quick, always good to hear especially from someone with a Noble GTO3R

Would recomend it to anyone, but no way can you go out there and drive like a normal trackday in the UK, you need to be totally on the ball the whole time your out. It scared the shit out of you, but you want to spend all day doing lap after lap

Sounds like you had a good time! I don't know why they don't send cars and bikes out seperately.
