Found on another forum:

Dude was on his way to rotorstock and there was a problem with 2 fuel pumps and something to do with the fuel rail or line (leak somewhere) As he went to pull away he indicated and must have caused a spark..

450bhp@ the wheels and £25k's worth of money up in flames...

Gutted, didn;t nath's go on fire aswell corroded fuel lines must be a bit of an issue on them eh

imagine the feeling you have, watching it burn, and having to admit defeat with the extinguisher

i'd be cheering if it happened to my corsa, slight bit of smoke and i'm blowing it gently trying to get it going

People should really check early recalls on these

<95 engine fires are soooo common

luckily i had a 2L bottle of Lit in my car and i pulled over where i new there was a river and i was lucky

Thats cus i thought it was a coolant pipe and if i just wipped the bonnet open then id get covered and burnt too fooooook

Nismo how did the rex catch fire? what caused the fire?

My mate has had no problems with his rex apart from the engine has gave up now and that got the death non stop

Fuel line perished , fuel lines run past the Turbo heat sheild = flames

There is a recall on the earlly models.
