Is it legal or not?
Just fitted the smoked ones and I love em but would look better if the bulb was clear instead of bright orange I reckon, im guessing its illegal?

If they flash orange, they should be legal - it'll be down to the discretion of MOT man etc too.
I've got a set of silver 501 bulbs for sale if not - they flash orange and are huge improvement over orange blobs

Halfords sell them, and they are called Silvatec bulbs, that appear chrome but flash orange.
They are £14.99 a pair, and are order only in most stores.
Alternatively, eBay!

Could I use the standard bulbs then? The ones that came with the car with the orange repeater?

They will give you a producer to get to an MOT garage in 14 days i think, then you have to take the producer the the police station stamped with an MOT stamp. Thats what happened with me

So no points or anything? Don't mind about a producer too much but can't be doing with points

I don't get what you mean, they look clear when not flashing but when they are flashing they still look orange so what's the point?
The ones I've got now look smoked until they flash so will be the same surely
