Reported that man u have upped their bid to £15million. Now i do rate carrick, he has a good engine a good range of passing and does a good job for spurs and prob would for england if selected.
My gripe is would man u not be better served outlaying that sort of cash on a maschereno or a gattuso? What do people think?

fergie knows what he is doing, when him or arsene buy anyone, you know theyve done so for a good reason.

Gattuso yes but how old is he?
I feel that Carrick would be ideal for Man Utd, I also think he would score a few good / important goals for them.
I really rate Carrick and I think letting him go would be a silly mistake for Spurs to do, especially when they have Murphy and Jenas, both of whom I think aren't as good.
Gattuso I also rate for different reasons, I think they are similiar players but he is more of a direct swap for Keane. I think he would see a few red cards throughout his season in the Premiership though.
Oh, I also can't see him leaving his team "AC Milan"

Kleberson, Fortune, Forlan??? However Wenger seems to do really well with him transfers. There are not a lot of managers in the world with more than 70% success ratewith signing but i think wenger is one.
As for the Carrick signing for Man Utd, i think would be great signing by Fergerson but im not sure about Spurs selling up. I think they've got a great team and defo one for the future. The way the Spurs side is going they will be challenging for the title in the next couple of years. But its if Carrick wants Champions league/premiership winners challenge now or in 3/4 years...

Was exactly what I was going to say! Not to mention a few keepers and other players who have come and gone under fergie.

I could go on for ages about Liverpools flops, Houllier loved buying them!
Im just saying Fergie hasnt been picking the best talent for a while now, not like he used to. And he is certainly not in the same league as Wenger for noticing the good players!

That would be correct, he was brought up in Italy and supported AC his whole life, he has an affection for rangers as all old firm players do when they leave.
Best bit though, Advocaat can choose between Barry Ferguson and Rino Gattuso, chooses Barry, Gattuso is now one of the best combative midfielders in the world and Ferguson is now a crock that ran back from England with his tail between his legs...good choice Dick

Barry Ferguson scored in the world cup?
Barry Ferguson captain of his national side at 19?
Barry Ferguson win the player and the young player of the year in the same season?
and so on and so forth.

what about
Diouf - £10m
Cisse - not really a flop but £14m
Kirkland - Tipped to be future england keeper (injury prone)
Diao
Biscan
Nunez - Part ex/ owen and £9m
i could go on and thats the team i support, even Rafa has made some mistakes but he has corrected them, like selling moro and Cisse and Nunez.
All managers make mistakes but to wengers credit i cant really fault any of his signings, they all seem to be good talents and relativly unknown/un-discoverd, for example
Henry
Viera
Pires
Ljungberg
Fabregas
Van persie
and even to an extend Berkamp
anyway roll on next season so i can see evryones new squads (with the exception of chelski because it will be a diff squad to 05/06 season)

Ferguson went to Blackburn to try something different got a terrible injury and could never settle
so he came back home
here's just some of the honours he's won
Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year
Scottish Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year X2
Scottish PFA Players' Player of the Year
