Sold the Zetec-S and bought this on tuesday:
Drove it yesturday, feels nice and quick. The engine loves to be revved! But now I know what people mean about the fly-by-wire throttle, slight delay on it. Its like turbo lag

Cool, in regards to comapred with a 1.6 sport, i had a play with one last night and we were level all the way upto 5th then we slowed down, my engine isnt quite standard but just to give you an idea

1.4 sri what my mrs has leave me and my sis both with 1.4 sports i have a 98 and she has a M reg cant think what year that is to early lol
i wanted the mrs to get a 1.8 but its her first car and shes only 800 fully comp grrrrrr women

According to Parkers, the C 1.8 does 0-60 in 8.2secs, making it 1.3 secs faster than a 1.6 B.

like turbo lag? the slight delay is nothing to do with FBW throttle its do with Electronic Fuel injection
mine has no delay at all

idiots its nothing to do with the FBW throttle...yeah cause it takes so long for an electronic signal to travel down some wires

Well iv kept up with one of the new 1.8 sri's in my 1.4 sport only pulled away after about 80 due to me not having a working 4th gear.
