No, maxi's control was better, chest, turn, and left footed volly.
cole has good control. but maxi's turn made his goal better, because he was almost back to goal.

Maxi Rodriguez over Joe Cole anyday, more control, ball was heading towards him faster, had to turn 90 degrees to hit it, and even with his wrong foot aswell. Class! Even though he plays for the enemies.

You can never call any shot on goal a fluke though, because it's not like he was trying to miss, I just think the skill of Maxi's was far greater, although Coles was a fab goal also.

Joe Cole's goal was better IMO - no one was expecting it. Even the commentator goes "oh it was worth a try......AND ITS A GOAL"

personally i think they were extremely similar, just on opposite sides, some of us may be being slightly biased towards cole because he plays for england. both equally great goals IMO

joe cole was a fair bit further out. The control and strike from both were quite similar though

surely any strike on goal is a try neither Rodrigues or Cole couldve said before they hit it that it would 100% go in making both attempts tries

25 passes or something, well worked. But I think the thread maker meant individual goal, correct me if I'm wrong.

Although I'd agree with you as the general goal of the tournament, one clean strike as opposed to a complete 2 minute demolition of a teams confidence bares no comparison.

Goal in extra time by Maxi Rodriguez to make it 2-1 to Argentina, the goal Eckmcmann is talking about was in the 6-0 crushing of Serbia and Montanegro by Argentina. Esteban Cambiasso.

Agreed - cross finds him perfectly, on the chest and in the top corner. Great goal.
