That's exactly what we need Freddy you stupid fat fuck. An ageing, albeit quality, right winger that we don’t need and will bleed us dry or a proven goalscorer and a quality left back, it's not rocket science you fat fucking moron

That was my 1st thought!
I'm starting to come around to the idea now, give Beckham a few games whilst some of the younger midfielders (N'Zogbia/Milner/Pattison) a chance to keep building.
Not pleased about the 120k a week though.
On a side note it could be good for england. The prem would give beckham back some of the pace he seems to be missing at the moment.

I would welcome Beckham with open arms under different circumstances but the fact is that Newcastle should be rebuilding instead of pissing money on a luxury player that we don’t actually need. We should be concentrating our efforts on signing a new CB, LB and two CF’s and only them might we have a realistic chance of achieving something this season

Newcastles response is interesting. Usually they'll come out and say there's no truth in rumours but this is unusual.

Totally agree mate, that isn't Newcastle's typical response

i personally do not want him as a player and on that kind of money at the club, but other things he may bring could be useful, as more recognition and possibly more revenue to the club and also be able to entice other players to the toon

apparantley (according to beckhams agent/spokesperson or whoever he is...) its a load of rubbish and hes about to renew his contract at real. ok most of you dont like him, but he really is too big a player to sign for newcastle.... and if you have seen sky sports news today.... most of the geordies said hes too big a player and they couldnt attract a player like him. only one didnt want him to sign.
dont believe every story you hear...... for example go on manutd.com for two seconds... look at transfer rumours for who we are (according to the press) going to be buying this summer..... the list is endless must have been 20 players linked so far, and not one has signed yet.... and also ruud and ronaldo are still here

I don't think he will leave Real unless pushed..
But if it did happen IMHO would be a good signing for newcastle...but the wages

Seems to me that Newcastle is the only choice left for a return by the ex-pat players....
Who else would want/have Beckham in this country?
Chelski? ....no he's passed his sell by date
Gooners?....no he's too expensive/not french
Liverpool?....we don't need him, and he's ex ManU so a complete no no
ManU?.....Not while Sir Alex draws breath
Spurs?....nope
Which just about leave Newcastle....as the only team left who could afford his wages and want him there. Same story with Owen TBH.
Not surprising the media have put 2+2 together and made Newcastle as the only side in England that could afford/want him

Not at all matey.
Im sure Beckham would love to see his days out at ManU.
Can't ever see him going back whilst Sir Alex in charge though, can you?
Personally i think he will take early retirement as opposed to leaving Real and nobody wanting him coming back to this country.
Live fast die young and all that. Im sure he's got his finger in other pies for retirement plans anyway

nah he wont go back to united fella... shame, if someone gave me the choice of beckham back (ronaldo + fergie gone) or keep fergie as manager, id choose beckham.
(that does not warrant abuse cosmo.... thankyou )
yeah i think he may retire soon as theres so much pressure on him...... ie. if england dont win the world cup its automatically beckhams fault. if i was him id think fuck it... retire.... rake the money in from sponsors.... live the high life in spain, spend time with the family, and just go and watch united every weekend
