tbh BitComet works fine when I used to use it...

now use Torrentflux, but thats just so I can leave it completely unattended & monitor it from anywhere anytime

the client isnt what governs the download speed, its the amount of seeders, port forwarding being set up if your behind a router, firewall, and also the active upload speed configured within the client...

tbh tho dom, torrent flux 'could' do with more improvements, its more an open system with the ability to add user accounts.

it only allows admin & user, nothing else, you cant restrict people to certain amounts per quota, etc... and its hard to keep track on the amount of bandwidth used unless you do a little moding to the front end & sql backend.

but for leaving it be, it works fine!

I used to use bitcomet but a few private trackers started to ban it. Gone onto Utorrent now and i cant complain at all. Got a built in scheduler too so if i get towards my 50gig peaktime bandwidth limit i can schedule downloads just for night, and the data is encrypted too which means some ISPs cant traffic shape it as easily.

I leave mine capped at about 85% of max upload, and ALWAYS leave torrents to seed to at least 100% share ratio

My laptop isn't good enough to cope with people uploading and me downloading

if i have unlimited upload, it makes the laptop impossible to use

there is only three torrent programs that are in top place, Utorrent, Bitlord and Azeuras.

I personally use Azeuras with Block List Manager (safepeer) which is a plugin to block the known monitoring companies/bad people from downloading from you and you downloading from then.

Has anybody in britain been done for just dl the odd torrent?
Not to my knowledge.
As soon as anybody connects to that tracker and gets a list of peers they have your ip.
I don't see the point in peer guardian etc.

PeerGuardian Technology

I have heard that people have received copyright infringement notices from using torrents.
