This one to be exact
A couple of pics after the clean up
[/
That had the very bonnet made
More progress was made tonight ,got one of the vents welded in  here is some piccys of the work
The inner skin on the vents was removed and the metal trimmed up so it would not foul the inner skin on the escort bonnet
Bonnet marked out and cut .
Test fit. :top:
Doing a bit of reshaping ,as the saff bonnet has a swage line in a different place
All cleaned up
Starting to tack weld it into place
Starting to weld into place ,bit by bit as to prevent the bonnet getting too hot .
Welds cleaned up
Still to clean up the welds on the back
well the latest project
Ok made a start on the doors today ,first thing was to get them measured and cut out of the audi doors and also give the escort doors a clean up .
Happy with the measuring
Just the inner skin holding it now
Old door nearly ready for the scrappy ,just one more bit needed
Skin on the top still to be removed
Process repeated for other door
Job done
Decieded to clean up the doors before i started work on them
After
Thats all for now ,more updates soooooooon :top:
Update time ,thanks for the comments ,started to rub down the filler on one of the doors ,got it to about 90% finished ,pics of the work done.
You can see where the guide coat has been left showing the low spots
Second skim building the low areas
Getting there
Handle test fit.
Thats all for now more next week :top: :top:
Thanks for all the comments :top:
Had a few other ideas in my mind for a while ,started to source some bits for these to happen, first mod is staying with the flush theme i want to change the number plate light ,i am going to use vw polo ones as these sit flat in the bumper ,will involve cutting the vw bumper into the escort one .
Perfect for my needs, one end missing cost me £5
The bumper to be modified cost me £10
Ok the next mod is a 3rd brake light in the boot lid ,going to use a bmw e36 convertable one, cut into the escort boot lid ,light will be red so it will blend in nicely.
Tracked down a mint boot for £20
Still to source a bm boot lid ,layed out with tape where the light will be cut in .
Boot will still be delocked and dewipered,
Let me know what you think, mods will still have the "factory" look.
Small update on the bootlid.
Inside i had to weld in the inner bracket that the light will bolt in to.
The holes will be made bigger so i have some adjustment with the light as it was hard to get it in the right place and weld it.
Bare metal ready for filler ,you can just notice the weld marks from the bracket on the top of the boot.
Holes drilled ,had a bit of trouble getting the drill in the gap but the light fits perfect.
First skim over the welds filler fiberglass mix.
Thats all for now more soon ,also working on something with the wheels got the idea of a bmw i saw in a mag ,think it works well what do you think ,thanks to Sticker Paul for doing them and posting to me
