Unfortunetly football is a big buisness these days and is more and more often driven by money rather than passion and nostalgia.
Moving Arsenal out of Highbury into a bigger stadium = more ticket sales, bigger fanbase which then equals more merchandise sale.
The same will be happening with Liverpool it seems.
I think Man Utd would of moved out of Old Trafford if they couldn't of expanded it a couple of years ago, I'm just waiting for Chelsea to build some immensely huge stadium at some point and selling the bridge for housing.
Nothing is sacred anymore in the big bad corporate world of football I'm afraid - not even Ibrox.....

Where i live, there was the oldest football ground in the country. It was called The Drill Field. Northwich Vics played there.

Has now been knocked down and houses put on there.

|Having been to Emirates AND OT I can safely say that if if Emirates had OT's seats it would be at least 65k capacity... seats are HUGE and padded at Emirates... much much nicer!! Also, Man Utd give away more away seats due to their higher capcity... Arsenal don't!!

What are you talking about?

This moved is needed as there is no chance of developing Anfield any further due to the close proximity of housing behind each side of the stadium...we need a bigger stadium to keep up with the off the field performances of the likes of Arsenal etc...

To talk about ripping the heart out of the club is crap as the new stadium will be built 300 yards from the current stadium so will remain in the area...

Onwards and upwards I say...as long as the atmosphere remains..

I can't see the difference between that and The Emirates? Or the City Of Manchester Stadium, except for red seats. What is it with these new stadia, no imagination.

wait for it................
