For this....

Adam you need a Non-Race National B licence.

You dont need a medical or ARDS (these are for circuit racing) and BARS is for stage rallying.

You will get the blue book with the license. I highly recommend you join a local car club first.

you dont need a national B for hill climbing or sprinting. You need a speed A license which you can apply for over the msa's website you dont need to do a test in order to get this .Ive had one for three years and im part of longton and district motorclub .It may be easier to join a motorclub which does sprinting/hillclimbing this way you could get into there leagues etc and you also get your license and sprint applications cheaper

It says you need a license for road rallies, you can compete in 12 cars or closed to club events with only a club membership. Im sure it cant differ much for what you want to do.

Dont be worrying about licenses yet! Find your nearest club, get in touch with someone and find out when their next meet is. Thats the only thing ou should be worrying about for now.

It's best you get a non race Nat B.

From there once you've done 3 events i think it is now (used to be 8 at 3 venues) you can upgrade to a Speed Nat A if you want.

You dont need to however.

A Speed Nat A will allow you to do British Championship rounds of the Sprint & Hill Climb championships.

Heve a look on www.scottish-hillclimbing.co.uk on the events section.

You dont have to enter a championship to do a round of it.
