Sponsor had to be Carling really didn't it!

Normally they field the reserves with a few first team players for the early stages of the Cup games but the following players have been confirmed:

Thomas Kuszczak, Gabriel Heinze, Mikael Silvestre, Ritchie Jones, David Jones, Kieran Richardson, Alan Smith, Ole Solskjaer.

I know most are returning from injuries, but it looks like they're pretty serious about keeping the title!

Come on the Alex !!

Crewe have a few injury problems (Michela O'Connor has been brilliant in midfield so far apparently, and Billy Jones has been ruled out now too) so it'll be even harder for them now...

Good to see United putting out a pretty strong team, Heinze and Silvestre espeically, like you said, they're returning from Injury, but it'll be good experience for the Crewe kids to play against some proper names.

Just hope Heinze doesn't crippple any more of them.

How do you think you'll do against Reading? Arsenal made short work of them at the weekend!

will be a weakened team against thier first team Id expect.

Fowler is def playing, but other big names will all be rested. Finnan has nearly played 20 games this season already

I only live 15 mins from Crewe.

I can get tickets for any away match guaranteed as my Dad's got season tickets, may go to Blackburn, not sure yet.

Not a bad game. See the Crewe striker Maynard looks totally out of his depth, looks half decent in league 1. Phil Marsh for Utd looks pretty poor too, the Jones lad who set up the goal looks half a player though.

Jones is pretty good yeah, on the whole Crewe seem like a decent team, last 10 minutes of first half they seemed to be struggling a bit though.
