about 35 mins ish
It's probably either cos your network isn't set up properly, you bittorrent client isnt set up properly, your line wont support anything faster, or you have a shit ISP.

had 1mb/s (or 1024kb/s) here on some, but mostly anything from trickle speed to 600kb/s.
Paul_J - chances are, you ISP is using traffic shaping (a lot of them are now, ntl/telewest are starting to) and P2P gets like priority on the network, eg: slow speeds.

If that is correct, and it reads somewhere between that and around 400kbps, why will it take that amount of time to download 710MB?

Just looked, and it looks like its 1.2 megabits per second, not megabytes as its a small b. If that's the case. then it works out as 150kB/s, which also kinda makes sense with how long the transfer will take.

No, I'm not sure work would appreciate me firing torrents through the network!
Oh, and if I grab an RJ45-to-fibre conversion block, I can walk 5 metres and plug my laptop into a 2.4Gbps link!

They are all about the speed baby, all about the speed!
DL'ing 13GB in under 5 hours? Yep that's right!
No uploading or sharing? Yep that's right!
No gaining "reputation"? Yep that's right!
