Luton have called an emergency board meeting for 1600 GMT to discuss boss Mike Newell's attack on female officials and chairman Bill Tomlins.

Not suprised!

I was shocked with his comments about the female lineswoman but to then see what he said about Luton and the Chariman

He said that in the last 2 years Luton have no interest in going forward and the Charmain doesn't give a monkeys (something along those lines)

"It is bad enough with the incapable referees and linesmen we have," he said. "But if you start bringing in women, you have big problems."

To be fair part of Newell's recent contract extention was that the board promised to "make progress" reference a new stadium.

Looks like another manager the board has lied to.

Great. I totally respect Newell for his views, im not saying i agree, but at least he actually has the balls to say something propably most people are thinking.......

Would be a shame to see him go, and as a Luton fan myself, i know we are having a real tough time i still think he is the best man for the job.

I agree with his views on females officiating games 100% and it is refreshing to hear a guy in a position of authority refusing to be silenced by the over pc world we live in.

If women are deemed uncapable to play with men on a level playing field then they have no right to be able to become refs or assistants.

I think his comments about women officals are totally justified. Men for mens football, women for womens football.

Women are not capable of keeping the mens game in order.

I think having female lineswomen is fine, if they have passed the courses and everything then I don't have a problem with it.

Newell is more often than not spot on, its because of this that he gets in trouble.

As for the board, he has been lied to on a huge scale and I don't blame him one single bit for launching the attack on the wankers in our boardroom.

30+ years of lies from our board.

Why do I have a feeling that Tilson will leave Southend and Newell will join us?

Behave, he'll go to either a Prem team or a 'bigger' team in the CCC.

I haven't seen how good/bad she is TBH

I don't see a problem with it aslong as she does the job to a good standard and can take the stick then who cares.

Rodney Marsh agree's that why does the 'mens league' need women officials when women have their own league.

So does that mean my gf shouldn't be watching Southend and following them all over the country?

If they are deemed not psychical on the same level as men to play with men, then how can they be deemed psychical on the same level to run the line and keep up with the play of men.

Woman fans is different that’s not direct involve in the game.

What if its her time of the month.

Though I think Newell is the second best manager in that league behind Hollaway as that man is a god with the press.

Will be a shame to see him out of a job.

I think he is entitled to his opinion on women linesmen.

I kinda agree with him too
