Salt can eat away at the laquer, if you clean them regularly it will be fine! Its a marmite thing to do..tbh ive never done it. I spend money on nice wheels to have them on my car not spend 6 months in the garage while I run scabby wheels with shit tyres!!

no, salt takes a day or 2 to disfigure the rim. often the added salt on the road can cause the wheel to distort a bit, making it not as round

I have used my wheels throughout the winter before and they still look like new

my dad has winter tyres on his winter alloys - so swaps them over for Novemeber to February - then back to the bigger wheels/sport tyres for the better weather

i can tell by looking at the picture the salt has affected the rolling radius and they are actually gradually shirking. do you suffer from flat tyres often?

to be honest, i have just put my new wheels on about a month or so ago and i clean them about once every 4 or 5 days, surely your paint can only get damaged by salt if you dont wash them for weeks on end! i dont want to have to put my shitty steelies back on for months to be honest!

missing the point mate, i , and others, take wheels off over winter to protect them so that when the snow etc is gone ,they aint kerbed or damaged by the salt

I can understand why if you have 'show car' but not just some standard corsa with a decent set of wheels.
Saying that i live in area that doest get much snow so ive not really seen the effects of salt on my wheels - i persinally wudnt take em off

its so people can say things like:
'Ive fitted my winter wheels'
makes them feel important.

nah on a more serious note guys, i would like to know weather they would get damaged by salt just by not cleaning after a few days or not cleaning for weeks, also what actually happpens to the wheels, do they just fade or something?
