I've currently got a x14xe and i'm wondering whether its possible/worth tuning it even more. Mainly in the direction of motorbike throttle bodies??? Is it worth it???
Discuss.

you'd get more fun per pound from putting a 1.6 in.

no torque, not worth the money for the power it gives you.
seriously, I did it too, I had 116bhp from my 1.4, and a standard 1.6 was better to drive, due to the torque.
I wish I'd just put a 1.6 in from the start.

This is what I was originally thinking. But questioned the actual bhp/torque figures difference..

116bhp + 96 lb/ft from my tuned 1.6.
130bhp + 123 lb/ft from my 1.6 with the same mods.
Like I say though, Teddy's STANDARD 1.6 was better mid range...

I think an x14xe with a couple of mild tuning mods like an exhaust and mantzel inlet is sensible. Not really much point in spending any more money though because an xe conversion would be cheaper!

an XE conversion is not the be all and end all of the tuning world
small block xe, Inlet, exhaust, decat, panel filter is a decent enough car
cams and headwork mean you start getting nice figures

jr, imagine what a 1.6 the same spec as your 1.4 would have been like though

Lol. So to sum up its not worth doing anything to the 1.4. I dont want/need an xe atm. Would be quite happy with a decent powered 1.6 on tb's. Apart from the engine obviously, what else would be required for the conversion? And could I use motorbike tb's?

noe what i mean is if you havent got the £££ for a 1.6 conversion, you can still get 110bhp-120bhp from them
