Well the story begins many moons ago. I owned a black Calibra Turbo and loved it - had to sell it so bought my Corsa GSi, loved that to, but was tempted by a Cavalier Turbo bought and loved that but was plaged with problems. Sold that, and seeing that a house purchase was looming, the hunt was on for another Corsa.

I was quite specific in my requirements. I wanted a later model but i had to have the 1.6 16v X16XE (nothing else would cut it!) but i also wanted a Non Sunroof model (thinking track use) and it had to be white.

After a little searching from Jake, he managed to find a white 1.6 Sport on ebay which was only 8 or 9 miles from me. Obviously wouldnt have just bought it off ebay so arranged with the seller to have a look.

Myself and Broster trotted along for a look, and apart from needing a bloody good clean inside and out, mecaniclly it was sound. The decision was made, my offer was accepted and i picked the car up 10/09/05

The car was totally stock and had actually lived in Germany for 3 years (But was originally bought in the UK from a Vauxhall Dealer)

Picked the car up and returned to Broster's



The intention was to "remove" the interior - Myself, Broster and Robin were becoming Dab hands at this by now!




Bootlifters are to heavy!


The side strips were removed - smoked headlights were added then removed, badgeless grille added and thats how the car stayed for a while.





Raceline RL7's were purchased at a nice price

I do have some better pics, but i dont have the facility to upload them at the mo.

I would like to add, all the tarmatting has now been removed and im in possession of fibeglass panels to fit to help reduce the weight further.

The car is destined for the track so further suspension upgrades and development in this area is where im concenrating at the moment.

Really like the subtle styling of that!

Has it seen much track action yet or is it still being prepared?

And what happened to the bonnet? Rust?

The interior did stink - previous owner had dogs

Tar matting nearly finished. i have managed to break 3 heat guns so far

Dash not out yet - having the rear brackets drilled out properly
Paint the floor then weld in the cage.

Dash is next on the hit list when i get the heated screen, but i want to fit the reaplcement panels and persex first.

Update ----

Tarmatting now finished, get on with the wire brush at the weekend :sigh:

all old rear seat mounts are coming out at the weekend, then onto the dash.

New coilovers planed for the end of the month also.
