as the winter rainy months are here and after a slightly disappointing rolling road result in November. ( it started running lean at 6000 rpm). i thought it was time to pull the engine out and start again and also due to the fact i am on borrowed time running close to 350bhp on standard internal
so after a struggle i got the engine out i say struggle because the engine crane i use is broken so i had to do it the old fashion way.
the plan is to fit steel rods, low comp pistons, rod bolts, flywheel bolts, port and polish the head and different injectors and anything else i think of along the way.
i have the block pretty much stripped iam going to leave the pistons in untill i get the new ones. the block is all ready 0.5mm over sized anyway so its just a straight swap case.
pics of the block:
and the box of bits iam now left with
as iam kind of stuck nw untill i get the rods and pistons i decided to strip the f28 and change the speedo ring so my speedo works and more importantly the mileage goes up correctly.
this is the job i didnt really want to undertake but was surprised when i took it apart how easy it was. the main cluster came off and left the bell housing there with the diff placed in a recess so it just lifted out.
thats it for now ill update with more pics as it happens

mine had a webber on it, i belive off a cossie...
i ran 440cc injectors at 2.8 bar was good enough to give me 263bhp at about 0.8 bar boost.. poxy thing never held boost - but the fuelling was quoted as being spot on by power engineering when it was rr'd

Your running that much Power without a Quaiffe Diff
Whilst you've got the perfect opportunity why don't you fit one now???
My SARD Fuel Reg cost £60 new on Ebay from Hong Kong, which I thought was not a bad deal at all. Defo recommend them
