a lad comes up to you in a pub and says he has a 1.8 corsa sri with a bolt on turbo conversion with a plug in map in the ecu. no other engine upgrades, no cams, no proper mapping or setting up.
he claims it runs 260bhp which is a jump of 137 bhp over the standard engine output (20bhp more than an astra VXR, an engine that was specially built to be a turbo'd engine and built by engine specialists that have a background in building race engines)
do you believe it?

i wont vote. this is posted wrong to be fair.
mate will walk up to you in a pub and tell you his prelude n/a with a bolt on kit is running over 300bhp. also a mate with a crx 1600 will walk up to you and tell you that runs over 220bhp from a bolt on turbo kit.
my engine dave is an xe engine. i have a bolt on turbo kit and i run close to 400bhp

to be fair muppet you have a lot more than a bolt on turbo kit. also honda engines are known to be very tunable and work well with turbo conversion.

1.8 Corsa Turbo Conversion.
The final development stages of these complete turbo kits have been fully completed with our German partners dbilas and have all been subjected to 5000+ mile autobahn road test.
Available NOW for almost every recent Vauxhall model...this kit is for the Z18XE engined cars.
Kits include all plumbing, intercooler, manifold, turbo, injectors, software...Absolutly everything you need to get the power you want!
you can expect a figure of around 260 bhp!

sorry it is possible if you use regal bolt on turbo kit and only there rolling road. dropping the car off in the morning and collecting it in three days time to make a good job of photo shopping your graph.

Get Regal to test their 1.8 turbo on your rolling road when it arrives dave. Then sue them for false advertising.

would you like to explain that? it has been rolling roaded several times on three different rolling roads and they were all within 1bhp of each other.
there are several people that have done similar stuff and got 140-150bhp just cos i have spent a bit more and got a couple extra bit i make 160 and its bullshit?

officially, do you know that the 1200 16v twin port isnt very tuneable? do you know the limits of the bottom end? crank, rods as std?
honda engines have been getting turbo'd in n/a form for years. this vaux engine is 3 or more years old. thats all.
exapmle - d16a9 rods rated to 250, crank rated to 400 out the box. bet nobody knew this until they actually tried it?

to me yes, its as much bollocks as regals 1.2 turbo is. ie, it isnt bollocks, you have rr proof and a spec of an engine that has been modified. thats my explanation.

Infact I do. I wont go into how I know as I will have to name names. I have close contacts with someone that works alongside a certain company and the EFI university.

i have rr results from when it just had the inlet and as things got added from there. some things didnt gain much and some things gained more than i thought they would. ie the unichip only increased the performance by just under 7bhp. when the superchip was added i gained 10bhp as the rev limit was raised to 75000rpm.
on the graph it shows that there is still more to be had after 7500rpm but i cant prove that until i do it.

this is what u2u is for. also, did your contacts at a university care to mention the impact forced induction has? and did they test it on a 1200 16v twinport?
or not?

seriously, you're speculating.
get it strapped to an rr and back up your claim.
although, even then you'll find an excuse no doubt.
