Alright, heres the scene. I just came out of college last night and was on my way home, and i always turn left at this roundabout near my college. when i went round it though i felt the back end swing out (maybe black ice?) and then it gripped, went into the kurb and broke the steering arm, all while little me inside was trying to steer out from it anyway called my insurance company and they've moved the car now (as it ended up in someones wall!) do you have any idea why it could have done this? bearing in mind i was only doin 25-30 at the time.

Ice more than likely, driving too fast for the conditions. Just put it down to experience.

Go to http://imageshack.us/ then click on browse, then search for the picture. It should then give you a list of links. Post the picture link in here, and add this {img}your_link_here{/img} - replace the {} with [].

its just that alot of ppl dont realise when they lower a corsa, thers a rear brake tensioner that tightens. this causes more braking effort to the rear, so its quite dangerous not to adjust it!

I backed mine right off. I'm not sure wether it would have caused this though. Mine was really dangerous.

Must have been black ice. Check the wheel base, if this is OK, it shouldn't be too bad of a fix.
