Day 1:

Spent the morning trying to kill the 1.2 and collecting the engine crane from a mate. Eventaully got the car into the garage and on stands by 1.

Took off Bonnet, Bumper and Headlights. Stipped out the engine and loom, and walked ( ) the engine from my mates house to the garage!

I have a nice hole now to put the XE into my car

Week off work now to get stuck in and get the most of it done. No pics yet i'm afraid though! Will get some tomorrow!

Day 2's progress:

Spent today doing a few of the little bits and pieces that need doing before we can get the engine mounted up.

Started off this morning looking like this:



A few bits:







Mate's method of transport for the day . Was fun



Powercap room:



Oh... And the discraced engine



Changed the Sump Gasket today:



Fitted 1.4 16v Fuel lines, cleaned the engine bay and got it nice and sparkly, fitted the loom, took the exhaust off, put a new V Pulley on the alternator, stripped a couple of bits off the XE that we don't need and put the sump back together with new filter and sump nut.

Should get it mounted up and the hubs pressed tomorrow!

Looks like slow progress for the day, but we spent a bit of time fannying about with Alternators and Gear Linkage.

I have a Regal "Quickshift" Linkage to fit, we had a go, and it looked a bit weird Sort of was grazing the gearbox housing Need to figure that out/ask for help. Buit until then we're a little bit stumped!

Alternator was ok in the end because we changed the pulleys over, but it wasted time messing about with them!

3 Spokes are on there because i don't care about them, and didn't want the SXi's on there at the moment. You can see them covered up in the first pic to the left of the wheel.

Bulkhead mod looks ok, haven't cut the whole thing out, just a kidney bean shaped hole
