hiya guys...
i went 2 the rolling road the other weekend and put my c20xe corsa on, she made 169bhp bless her... i was so chuffed!
shes only a bogger, powerflow exhaust, k&n filter, and thats the lot!
i was shocked! and i just thought i would she my hapiness. i knows its not alot of bhp.. but for what i thought it would be, i was really happy, was hoping for the standard mark!

how did you make that much bhp just from powerflow exhaust and a k&n with a standard c20xe? any other mods?

its amazing how these 10-15 year old standard engines make as much as 20bhp above their standard power

even so, don't think it could make a true 19 odd bhp from just 2 performance mods.
nothing more than 160 i'd say

i was a bit worried the rollers were generous... but some1 took his 1.3 mk4 fez 4 a laugh, n it made 55bhp on the dot jus like the manual ses so...!
no just filter and exhaust...
the one thing the guy did mention was that i run LSD, and i use automatic transmition fluid in my gearbox to try and help preserve the LSD... but the guy on the rollers says he's seen it before ppl making bhp at the wheels that way, i made 120 at the wheels!
bless he, i will luv her forever now. jus thought it was nice 2 go just 2 get a graph that u can show when selling n stuff
its got a coscast head, but im sure they make no differance. jus rebuilt her and put it in myself, jus guess it was a good one n taken care of

mine made 161.7 on the dyno with enlarged tb and exhaust system. some engines react differently to others when tuned

erm, that means you had transmission losses of 49 bhp which is around 29%. shouldnt see any more than about 15-20%
that means the dyno is taking the power at the wheels figure and adding 29% for the estimated flywheel figure!

If your wondering how the machine works out the flywheel horsepower, well the machine measures the wheel horsepower then by letting it run down it converts the mechanical drag into the extra horsepower at the flywheel.
Simple as.

not all machines matt. theres lots of different types.
the usual reasons for high percentages in transmission loss are brakes binding, worn gearboxes or low tyre pressures.

yer.. and isnt this were some ppl come better off...
like what the guy says where you can lose power through transmission, i.e engine oil, gearbox oil etc...
