Simple... name your ideal starting XI... regardless of prejudices (ie. I hate Cashley Cole but I would probably start him ahead of Barry)... no banter, just a formation and line-up... with subs (1 goalie 6 others)
Robbo - 4-4-2
Robinson
Richards Terry Ferdinand A.Cole
Lennon Gerrard Hargreaves J.Cole
Rooney Owen
Kirkland
G.Neville
Woodgate
Barry
Lampard
Carrick
Crouch

Similar to Robbo's...
Robinson
Richards, Terry, Rio, Cole
Lennon, Gerrard (c), Hargreaves, Cole
Rooney, Defoe
Bench:
Kirkland
G.Neville
Carragher
Barry
Lampard
Owen
Crouch
Reason for the changes...
Owen is nothing compared to what he was 5 or so years ago. He has lost alot of his pace and his finishing is a little poor...and that was when he still played for us too. I think Rooney needs someone with pace playing off him, and until Walcott comes through I think Defoe could do the job. Also think you needed another forward on the bench, 3 midfielders arent needed on there...its like Svens WC Squad!!
Carragher on the bench instead of Woodgate. I like both players (and slightly biased) but think Carra offers more cover for different positions than Woodgate will. Plus is doesnt get injured!!

did it to see who would notice
I have no problem with Terry being it, but personal preference is Gerrard as feel he could do more to pick up the team when down and drag them forward. Doesnt really matter though.

Neville Terry Ferdinand A.Cole
Hargreaves (DM)
Lennon Gerrard J.Cole
Rooney (AM)
Defoe
i cant understand why people would play Richards an drop Neville
lampard hasnt performed in the england set up and CANT work along side gerrard, so should be dropped
Mclaren needs to drop a bollock and bring beckham back in

Agree with everything you've said there
Especially the Richards one, England have possibly the most consistent full back in the world in Neville yet folk would pick an untried kid over him

You have to look towards the next tournament and putting together the team now that you think will play then. Its the only way to get some of the players to gel together.

Anyone who saw Richards do more in 10 minutes than G.Neville did in 80 on Weds would probably agree...

Exactly... Gary is probably still the best RB in England but hes getting on... bring in the youngster and get him up to speed

got to agree, got to look to the future on that one, looks like richards is going to be good so need to start helping his progression.
Same for finding a partner to Rooney, whoever links up best with him needs to be found. Although Dean Ashton was looking promising fo me as a potential man up front before his injury. Don't know if that would be the best partner for Rooney though.

Rooney needs pace off him. A fully fit and back to his best form Owen would be perfect, I just dont think we'll see Owens best again.

Again, agreed ^^
I think Ashton could be the perfect foil to Rooney and I'm not convinced Johnson is!

I can say it from watching him for years and years at Liverpool.
He was amazing before his injuries, and then decided to finish every chance he would turn his body and try to place it with little power.
